Self-imposed Solitude

After a lie-in until 8am I exercised, had breakfast and went for a walk in the park. It has been a long time since I have done this and it was the walk in the park more than anything which bestowed on me the feeling of being back in my routine. I felt calm and contented as I walked. The weather was good, the sun was shining and the air was fresh. I sat on a bench and continued with my letter to Francis until it started to rain.

Spent the rest of the day cooking, eating, sleeping, exercising moderately, and enjoying all the sport available. Spent more time than planned in front of the tv but enjoyed the whole day from start to finish. Somehow I missed phone calls from Leon and from Sunil, both of whom left messages on the answer phone. Leon called to say hello – he is with his new girlfriend tonight trying his best to do things differently in his relationship. Sunil called to say he would be visiting Calvin tomorrow if I was interested. My initial reaction was no, but I considered whether such an opportunity constituted a good enough reason to break my self-imposed solitude.
